Debate And Controversy
With such a sad issue there isn't much controversy on the topic . The problem is the silence the debates are about the silence . Its as if women should feel the need to not let the world know they once had a baby in their womb .There is multiple perspectives on the issue . Some believe stillbirth isnt such an important issue because the child never lived a full day on earth . Others live for the remembrance of their angels . The studies that are shown show a significant amount of research for most likely causes of having a stillbirth such as having diabetes , smoking , but the one cause that stands out the most is being African American is twice likely to have a stillborn. The author Nicholas Bakalar of the article Stillbirth Causes argues that “ black women are twice as likely to have a stillbirth as women of other races or ethnicity, but the disparity in risk occurs almost entirely at less than 24 weeks’ gestation. The reasons for this are unknown.” There is to many unknown factors people argue .
