One in four women have a stillbirths . 2.6 million babies nationwide die before their first birthday . Stillbirth is when a pregnant woman loses her child after their first trimester . Stillbirth isn't a miscarriage , it is the loss of a baby before or after birth in the 20th week of pregnancy . Stillbirth is when a women has a fully developed child in her womb and it dies.1 What's worse about losing a fully developed child in your stomach ? The doctors providing no explanation for it . No cause no nothing to tell you what went wrong . Studies show Women who live alone meaning not being married also women who aren't as wealthy are twice as likely to have a stillbirth. Your social class does not kill a baby . Your color doesn't kill your baby . What is the explanation for women who live with their husbands and are wealthy and went to school and still lose their children .The personal experiences towards this taboo subject makes me question the studies and what doctors have to say about women who have stillbirths . Vanessa Meza , My very own sister has gone through the terrible experience of losing her child five days before she was scheduled to have a caesarean . There was no warning for this horrific lost there was no explanation no cause besides the fact that “ things happen ” . The unbearable pain for Vanessa lead her to not do an autopsy .What mother can live with the pain of her fully developed child not making a day in this world ? Let alone have to go through an autopsy. According to Journal of midwifery and women's health stillbirth accounts for 40% of deaths , however , most deaths occur and underreported. In about half of all causes of stillbirth is unknown. Although there are not real ways to prevent this terrifying reality of stillbirth, society can provide ways for families to cope by spreading awareness and providing with enough public health clinics.
